More than a General Tutor
Hello!I’m a former literary agent and the founder of RAWR.
During my career in children’s book publishing, I worked with award-winning and New York Times Bestselling authors and negotiated 5- and 6-figure book deals with major publishers like Penguin Random House and Macmillan. Today, I still work with writers. I simply meet them much earlier in their writing journey.
But what I bring from publishing into RAWR isn’t a list of credentials. It’s a way of reading.
Years spent evaluating manuscripts taught me to look beneath the surface of a piece of writing. I see not only what could be stronger, but also what the writer was trying to accomplish, what choices they were making, and where those choices were helping or hindering the work. That editorial perspective shapes every RAWR lesson, conference, and conversation.
RAWR was built on a simple belief: confident writers aren't born—they're taught.
When students learn to read like writers, write with intention, revise with purpose, and trust their own ideas, they don't just produce stronger essays or stories. They develop the habits of mind that allow them to express themselves with clarity, creativity, and integrity long after the lesson ends.
That's the kind of writer RAWR was made for.
My MissionHelp students develop confidence in their ideas by teaching them to express themselves with clarity, intention, creativity, and integrity.
RAWR exists for students who are ready to go deeper.
RAWR students are ready to develop a genuine writer's identity, a precise relationship with language, and the confidence that comes from making something real.
With every publication, students tell two stories: the work on the page, and the writer they’re becoming.
2026-2027 Enrollment is open.
Studios are small by design—Literary Lab and Reader’s Study seats three students, Nature Studio seats five. There is limited availability for private tutoring, with priority being given to current families.
