Private Lit Lab

Private Lit Lab is the individual version of Literary Lab. In 60-minute sessions, the student reads the same primary texts as the Literary Lab cohort, works through the same grammar sequence and root words, and produces the same Literary Zine capstone—but with a capstone shaped entirely around their interests, pace, and developing voice.

In the group seminar, the discussion is a shared enterprise: three students bring three different readings of the same passage, and the most interesting thing that happens is often the moment when those readings collide. What changes in a one-on-one setting is everything instructional. The Socratic discussion becomes a two-person conversation. The writing conferences have more time and more depth. The capstone can grow in the direction that best fits the individual student.

For the right student, this is more demanding than Literary Lab, not less. There's no cohort to move alongside. Every question is a personal invitation to deeper thinking, closer reading, and more intentional writing.
